What is the difference between plans?

Two separate things differ between plans: the Functions (capabilities) you unlock, and the Credits (how much you can generate). Credits are spent per image, but how many credits each image costs depends on both its resolution and your plan — higher plans charge fewer credits for high-resolution images. On Hobby you pay full rate by resolution (about 1K: 5–10, 2K: 10–20, 4K: 20–40 credits per image). Basic discounts the larger sizes (2K costs the same as 1K, and 4K is about half), and Pro charges the same low rate at every resolution (1K / 2K / 4K all about 5–10 credits). Subscriptions refill your credits each billing cycle with unused credits rolling over; Buy Credits is a one-time, no-expiry top-up, and higher plans simply include more. Functions, by contrast, are capabilities your tier turns on and are never consumed: Hobby is Standard image generation only, while Basic and Pro unlock PaperClaw Advanced Image Generation, unlimited image dimensions and faster responses, and Team adds API access, a shared team credit pool, higher rate limits and multiple API keys. In short: Functions decide what you can do, while Credits — and how cheaply each resolution is billed on your plan — decide how much you can make.

What is the difference between Subscription and Buy Credits?

Subscription (Monthly/Yearly) provides recurring credits each billing cycle, unused credits roll over to the next period, and you get a discounted rate. Yearly plans save 50% compared to monthly. Buy Credits gives you a fixed amount of credits with no expiration and no recurring charges — pay once, use at your own pace.

What is the refund policy?

We offer a 24-hour money-back guarantee on your first eligible purchase. To qualify, your refund request must meet ALL of the following: (1) submitted within 24 hours of payment, (2) no more than 50 credits used at the time of the request, and (3) no previous refund has been issued on your account. If any condition is not met, the purchase is non-refundable. Each account is limited to one lifetime refund — purchases made after a previous refund are not eligible. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period.

How do I cancel my subscription or request a refund?

To cancel your subscription, go to your Account Settings and click Cancel Subscription. Your current plan will remain active until the end of the billing period, and you will not be charged again. For refunds, please send an email to support@paperclaw.org within 24 hours of purchase.

Can I use the generated images for commercial purposes?

Yes, you can use the generated images for commercial purposes. The output is yours to use in academic publications, presentations, and other materials.
